Description/résumé
This project aims to develop a biomechanical model of the colon that captures the fluid-structure interaction (FSI) between the colonic wall and its contents. The objective is to simulate peristaltic motion and assess how muscular contractions influence transport and mixing.
Using realistic geometry and physiological parameters, we are building a numerical model that couples elastic wall deformation with fluid dynamics. This work contributes to integrating biomechanical features into the gut digital twin developed in the PhD project of Eleonora Pastremoli.
