Biologie des systèmes

La biologie des systèmes a pour objet l’étude des interactions dynamiques entre différentes parties d’un système biologique, ainsi qu’entre un système biologique et son environnement.

Dans ce cadre très général, l’équipe de recherche BioSys a pour but le développement de méthodes mathématiques et algorithmiques permettant de modéliser, d’analyser et de simuler des systèmes biologiques complexes, allant de l’échelle du processus intracellulaire à l’échelle de l’individu (ou de la communauté d’individus) dans son environnement. Dans une approche résolument intégrative, l’équipe est également amenée à développer des outils permettant la représentation et l’exploitation des données disponibles, nombreuses et hétérogènes, incluant par exemple des données `omiques’, des données de phénotypage haut-débit ou encore des données d’imagerie.

Nos compĂ©tences sont principalement dans le domaine des MathĂ©matiques AppliquĂ©es : systèmes dynamiques (dĂ©terministes ou stochastiques), thĂ©orie du contrĂ´le, optimisation (convexe ou non convexe) et dans le domaine des Sciences de l’IngĂ©nieur : automatique, traitement d’images, calcul scientifique. Du point de vue biologique, nos travaux sont rĂ©alisĂ©s principalement autour d'organismes modèles, notamment la bactĂ©rie Bacillus subtilis (modèle des Gram +) et la plante Arabidopsis thaliana. De façon gĂ©nĂ©rale, les questions centrĂ©es autour d’objets biologiques concrets s’appuient sur des partenariats interdisciplinaires robustes et structurĂ©s, Ă  l’INRA ou en dehors.


Axes de recherche

L'équipe se situant à l'interface de plusieurs disciplines, nos travaux de recherche portent à la fois sur des thèmes à finalités biologiques et sur le développement d'outils plus génériques relevant des mathématiques appliquées.
