Statistical analysis and modelling of epidemics
Abstract
Looking at a number of examples from recent outbreaks such as Zika in the Americas, Ebola in West Africa or MERS-CoV in the Middle, I will discuss the challenges associated with the analysis of epidemic data as well as the role modelling can play in the management of these epidemics.
